Cepelinai with seitan is a new take on a traditional Lithuanian dish. Instead of meat, seitan, a wheat protein product, is used. This is a great choice for those looking for new flavors and want to rediscover their favorite dish.
Ingredients: potato mass (65%): grated potatoes, boiled potatoes, iodized salt, ascorbic acid. Seitan filling (45%): water, WHEAT gluten, sunflower oil, tomato paste, SOY sauce, rice flour, smoke flavor, rock salt, parsley leaves, ground coriander, hot peppers (chili), smoked paprika, iodized salt, ground allspice, dried parsley, ground allspice, ground black pepper, sweet paprika, ground nutmeg. Average nutritional value per 100 g of product: energy value – 1042 kj / 248 kcal; fat 8.5 g, of which saturated fatty acids 1.5 g, carbohydrates 30 g, of which sugars 18 g, protein 13 g, salt 1 g.
Storage conditions: store at a temperature not higher than -18 °C. Do not refreeze after thawing! Made in Lithuania.
Instructions for cooking frozen cepelli:
- Pour water into a pot and add salt (recommended: 2-3 liters of water - 2 teaspoons of salt).
- Once the water boils, remove the cepelli from the freezer and place them in a pot.
- As the water boils, swirl the pot or lightly lift the cepelinai from the bottom.
- Once the cepelinai rise to the surface of the water, cook for another 20 minutes over low heat.
- Serve the cooked dumplings with natural sour cream.
